Prospect is about 15 km south of our Rouse Hill base as the crow flies, and it is home to Prospect Reservoir. The NSW Public Works Department finished the reservoir in 1888, on land that had been farmed since 1806. Prospect Hill was quarried for dolerite roadstone until 2007, and in the early 2010s the 330 hectare quarry gap, now part of Pemulwuy next door, became a light industry area with the Prospect Highway winding through it. Blacktown City's economic profile lists the east and south of Prospect among its industrial precincts. At the 2021 Census 5,187 people lived here, with a median age of 38.
