Seven Hills is about 11 km south of our Rouse Hill base as the crow flies, with Old Windsor Road along its eastern edge and Blacktown Creek and the railway on the west. It is one of the older suburbs out this way: the first land grants came in the 1790s and trains have stopped here since 1869. The rail line splits it in two, with a large industrial area north of the tracks. At the 2021 Census 20,095 people lived here and 84.1% of homes were separate houses.

Why windscreens crack around Seven Hills

Freight is the big factor. Transport for NSW counts around 35,000 vehicles a day on the Prospect Highway, 5,000 of them heavy vehicles, and the road links the M4, the Great Western Highway, Old Windsor Road and the M2. Seven Hills Plaza and the industrial area both sit on it. TfNSW has rebuilt 3.6 km of it towards the M4 from a mainly two-lane road into a divided road. Old Windsor Road widens to six lanes at Seven Hills Road. Trucks, trailers and loose material on busy multi-lane roads are hard on windscreens.

Who we fit for in Seven Hills

Seven Hills works with its hands more than most. At the Census 10.3% of employed residents were machinery operators and drivers, against 6.0% for NSW, with 11.8% technicians and trades workers and 8.9% labourers. Blacktown City lists the eastern part of Seven Hills as one of its major industrial precincts, and CDC NSW runs two bus depots here, one on Hartley Road. Households are busy too: 35.6% had two vehicles and 16.5% had three or more.

Where we fit

We fit in your driveway, at your workshop or unit north of the railway around Abbott Road and the Prospect Highway, or in a depot yard. Each vehicle just needs a flat, safe spot with room to open the doors and work on both sides.

Seven Hills questions

Can you fit a windscreen at my workshop in the Seven Hills industrial area?

Yes. We fit at units and yards north of the railway around Abbott Road and the Prospect Highway. Park the vehicle on level ground with space to work on both sides.

Is the Prospect Highway why my windscreen keeps getting chipped?

It is a likely suspect. Transport for NSW counts around 35,000 vehicles a day on it, including 5,000 heavy vehicles. Get small chips looked at early, before they spread into a crack.
