Mobile windscreen and truck glass fitting in Windsor and across the Hawkesbury, about 12 km from our Rouse Hill base.
Windsor is about 12 km north west of our Rouse Hill base as the crow flies, where Windsor Road reaches the Hawkesbury River. The town itself is small, with 1,915 residents at the 2021 Census, but it is the centre of a wider area that takes in South Windsor, Bligh Park, Windsor Downs, McGraths Hill and Mulgrave. We cover all of them.
Traffic north of the river funnels through one crossing. The old Windsor Bridge was built in 1874 for horse-drawn carts; its replacement opened in May 2020, and Transport for NSW counts up to 19,000 vehicles a day on it. Cars, farm utes and freight trucks all bunch up on the approaches and on Windsor Road, and a truck tyre throwing a stone at close range is a quick way to crack a screen.
Windsor is a working town. At the 2021 Census, 15.9% of employed residents were technicians and trades workers, 10.6% were labourers and 10.4% were machinery operators and drivers, and road freight was one of the top industries. One in five households had three or more vehicles. So as well as family cars, we fit work utes, truck windscreens and cab glass on tractors and loaders.
We come to your house, your work yard or the farm. A flat, dry spot beside the vehicle is all we need. When the Hawkesbury is in flood we hold off until roads reopen; the new bridge itself was closed by floodwater in March 2021.
Yes. Truck windscreens and cab glass for tractors, loaders and excavators are part of our work, fitted at your yard, depot or paddock.
If flooding closes the roads in or out of Windsor we move your booking to when they reopen. Even the new Windsor Bridge was closed by floodwater in March 2021, so we check road conditions before we head out.
We also cover South Windsor (2.2 km), Clarendon (2.0 km), McGraths Hill (2.2 km), Mulgrave (2.3 km).
