Mobile windscreen fitting in Richmond, at the far end of the rail line, about 17.5 km from our Rouse Hill base.
Richmond is about 17.5 km north west of our Rouse Hill base as the crow flies, at the end of the rail line. Richmond Road, Hawkesbury Valley Way, Londonderry Road and Bells Line of Road all lead out of town from here. At the 2021 Census the town had 5,418 residents with a median age of 43. It is not all freestanding houses either. Only 55.1% of homes were separate houses, with townhouses and units making up most of the rest.
The town gathers traffic from every direction: Bells Line of Road from Kurrajong and Bilpin, Londonderry Road from Penrith, and Richmond Road from the M7. On top of that, Transport for NSW is rebuilding the roundabouts on The Driftway at Blacktown Road and Londonderry Road, and The Driftway is closed between Londonderry Road and Jockbet Street for up to five months from 15 July 2026. Stage 2 of the New Richmond Bridge, with a new four lane river bridge and a bypass of the town centre, is due to start in late 2026. Detours and fresh road surfaces throw up loose stone.
The air base and the town have grown up together since the first aircraft landed in 1925, and RAAF Base Richmond has been home to the Hercules since 1958. Defence was the top industry for local workers at the Census, at 5.1%. It is a hands on workforce too: 13.9% technicians and trades workers, 9.8% machinery operators and drivers and 9.7% labourers. Nearly half of households (45.9%) had just one car, so fitting it where it is parked matters.
We come to your house, your unit car park or your workplace in town. We also cover the Western Sydney University Hawkesbury campus, which spreads over about 1,373 hectares, so tell us which car park you are in. All we need is a flat, safe spot beside the vehicle.
They can change our route. The Driftway is closed between Londonderry Road and Jockbet Street for up to five months from 15 July 2026, so we check the Transport for NSW detour before we head out.
Yes. Trades, machinery operators and labourers make up a big share of local workers, and we fit utes, vans, trucks and machinery at your home, yard or work site.
