Baulkham Hills is about 11.6 km south east of our Rouse Hill base as the crow flies. It is one of the older Hills suburbs, built up from the 1960s, and it used to stretch further north until June 2018, when the Norwest Business Park area was moved into Norwest and Bella Vista. The Census still counted 37,415 residents in 2021, median age 39.
Three main roads meet at Baulkham Hills Junction: Windsor Road, Old Northern Road and Seven Hills Road. Windsor Road traffic has been a problem for a long time; it helped close the Rogans Hill railway line in 1930. Today it has clearways from Showground Road to Seven Hills Road. Along the south, the M2 runs through the suburb as four lanes, widening to six past the Windsor Road interchange, and Old Windsor Road and the T-way form the western edge. Motorway speeds and heavy arterial traffic are where stone chips start.
Homes here are more varied than in the newer suburbs closer to us. Separate houses were 75.4% of dwellings at the Census, townhouses and semis 13.3% and apartments 11.3%. Most households have more than one car, with 42.6% on two and 18.7% on three or more. Alongside a large professional workforce (34.4%), 9.7% of workers were technicians and trades workers, so we fit tradies' utes and vans as well as commuter cars.

Not during clearway hours. Windsor Road between Showground Road and Seven Hills Road is a clearway 6am to 7pm on weekdays and 9am to 6pm on weekends, so we use your driveway or a side street.
Yes. The small section south of the M2 and Windsor Road intersection is in Parramatta council, but it is the same trip for us.
