Melonba is about 11 km west of our Rouse Hill base as the crow flies. It was approved as a suburb in September 2020 and gazetted that November, on land that had been part of Marsden Park. The name is a Dharug word for a type of wattle found in the area. At the 2021 Census the suburb was just getting started, with 1,439 residents and a median age of 31.
