Ropes Crossing is about 14 km south west of our Rouse Hill base as the crow flies. It is named for a crossing of Ropes Creek, which honours Anthony Rope, a First Fleet convict thought to have been granted land on its banks. The land was a World War II munitions area, later known as Australian Defence Industries. Lend Lease has since developed it for housing, with up to 2,200 homes planned around a regional park in the middle.
