Parklea is close to home for us, about 5 km south of our Rouse Hill base as the crow flies. Most of Sydney knows the name from Parklea Markets, the landmark that put this small suburb on the map. The suburb was named by subdividers in the early 1900s. At the 2021 Census 3,684 people lived here. Separate houses made up 68.1% of homes, with townhouses, terraces and semis at 32.6%. Two-car homes are the norm: 45.1% of households had two vehicles and 24.3% had three or more. Buses run from the Sorrento and Stanhope stops on the Blacktown to Parklea T-way.
