Mobile windscreen fitting in Tallawong, around the end of the metro line, about 2.7 km from our Rouse Hill base.
Tallawong is right next door, about 2.7 km south west of our Rouse Hill base as the crow flies. It only became a suburb in November 2020, carved mostly out of Schofields, and took its name from the metro station. Tallawong comes from the Dharug word for the apple gum tree. At the 2021 Census 6,570 people lived here, with a median age of just 30.
This is the end of the metro line, and the streets around it are still filling in. The station sits between Tallawong Road and Cudgegong Road and was planned with 1,000 commuter car spaces, with the metro depot just to the west. The planning precinct around it was set for 4,400 new homes, so concrete trucks, tradies and station traffic all share the same new roads. Building sites leave grit and gravel on the bitumen, and that is what chips a screen.
The suburb is young households in big new houses. 86.0% of occupied homes were separate houses at the Census and 80.3% had four or more bedrooms. Two cars is the norm, with 45.5% of households on two vehicles and 15.1% on three or more; only 1.8% had none. Professionals (31.2%) and managers (14.1%) make up a large share of workers. Homes are full, too, averaging 3.2 people each.
We fit in your driveway or garage, or on site if your house is still being built and a work ute or machine has taken a stone. If the car usually sits at the station all day, book us for a day it is at home.
Neither, now. Tallawong was gazetted as its own suburb on 6 November 2020. Most of it used to be Schofields, and the corner around the station used to be Rouse Hill.
Yes. With the precinct around the station planned for 4,400 homes there is a lot of plant working locally. We fit excavator and loader glass on site once the machine is parked up and the site is safe to work on.
Very close. Our Rouse Hill base is about 2.7 km north east of Tallawong as the crow flies.
We also cover Schofields (2.0 km), The Ponds (2.3 km), Rouse Hill (2.7 km), Kellyville Ridge (2.9 km).
