Kellyville Ridge is about 2.8 km south of our Rouse Hill base as the crow flies, so it is one of our closest suburbs. It belongs to Blacktown City and was made in 2002 from the part of Kellyville west of Windsor Road. It filled up fast. ABS estimates had the area growing 9% in a single year, 2013 to 2014, among the quickest in Sydney. By the 2021 Census 10,890 people lived here, with a median age of 35.
Windsor Road forms the eastern side, and the Rouse Hill branch of the T-way follows Old Windsor and Windsor roads past it. The first stretch, from Parramatta up to Merriville Road, opened in March 2007, so the corner of Merriville and Windsor Roads, where the Ettamogah Pub sits, has buses, trucks and cars all turning through it. Longer trips head out on the M7 or the M2. A small stone thrown off a tyre at motorway speed is what usually starts a chip.
